Rachel's Courtyard

Random Acts Firefighters recently had the privilege of co-hosting a party at Presbyterian Hospital's, Rachel's Courtyard. Rachel's Courtyard is a playground built on a roof of the hospital attached to the Pediatric ICU where hospitalized children and their families can spend some time having fun. Random Acts partnered up with the amazing staff of child life experts, who spend their days attending to the needs of the children, to throw a Forth of July party. The BIg Red Fire truck Party was a huge success with patients, families, staff and firefighters all playing games and having a blast. The children, some of whom had never met firefighters before, all seemed to throughly enjoy activities like races and throwing water balloons at our heads. The staff of Rachel's Courtyard are truly remarkable people, and heros to the children who find glimmers of joy and peace in the sanctuary created for them. Thanks to everyone who participated or attended the event and hopefully we can make it a yearly occurrence.
