Sean

In February of 2008 Random Acts recieved a request from a Bernalillo County firefighter on behalf of his friend Sean. A few years earlier Firefighter Keith Milliron had met Sean, who suffers from Fragile X Syndrome, and his mother. Sean loves firefighters and was instantly attached to his new friend. Firefighter Milliron gave Sean a BCFD tee-shirt and it became Sean's prized possession. He wore the shirt every day and his mother washed it for him every day, leading to the shirt wearing out and falling into rags.
Random Acts gathered up some tee-shirts, firefighters from the Albuquerque and Bernalillo County Fire Depts donated shirts, and even TLC Uniforms donated a few shirts for Sean so he wouldn't have to wear the same one everyday and could switch then up. AFD Engine and Rescue 16 are housed not to far from Sean's house and they were excited to go present the shirts to Sean. On Friday Feb 1st Sean opened the door and a huge smile slowly grew on his face as he realized a huge group of firefighters were there, not for an emergency call, but to see him and give him a lasting memory. Sean was presented with the tee-shirts, eight in all, and he immediately ran and put one on. We took Sean outside and let him crawl all over the trucks and he was overwhelmed, not knowing what to make of it all. Sean's mother asked us to thank everyone for giving him the memory of the wonderfull day his heroes came to see him at his house. It was an amazing day and all the firefighters couldn't wait for the next random act.
